Pre-purchase building inspections

Building inspections

A thorough visual inspection of your property will be undertaken during your building inspection and your inspector will be looking for all major and minor defects, cracking, maintenance and safety issues.

If you attend your inspections, our inspectors will discuss their findings with you after they have inspected the property and will go over any areas of concern that they have identified during their inspections with you in terms that you can understand. If you can’t attend your inspection, live interstate or overseas, we are happy to call you after your inspection and let you know how it went.  You can discuss any of your concerns personally with your building inspector.

We are required to provide you with a Building inspection agreement prior to your inspection under the Australian Standard 4349.1.  The building inspection agreement outlines the type, scope and limitations of the inspection. You can easily submit your agreement back to us by using our Submit Agreement page on our website.

For your added protection and peace of mind, our building inspections are covered by professional indemnity insurance and public liability insurance. You can find our licence details on our About us page, with a direct link to the QBCC licence check web page for your convenience.

Reports

Our building inspection reports are written in accordance with Australian Standard 4349.1 and are also covered under our professional indemnity insurance.

We will provide you with a professional and comprehensive written report with 24 hours of your inspection.  If your report is required urgently, we will make every effort possible to have your report to you ASAP. Our inspectors can provide you with a verbal report to allow you to meet your urgent deadlines if necessary.

You can discuss your report and any concerns or questions you may have personally, with your building inspector after you have read your reports.

Building inspection reports can be sent to you via e-mail, fax or by express mail.

Pre-sale building inspections

Most prospective purchasers will have their own pre-purchase building and pest inspections undertaken on your property prior to settlement.

A pre-sale building and pest inspection will alert you to any problems that might show up unexpectedly in your purchaser’s report. Read more about our pre-sale inspections …

Combine your building inspection with a PEST inspection

Our most requested inspection is a combined building and pest inspection. If you require both inspections to be undertaken on your property, we will send out two separate inspectors together, working as a team. A licenced building inspector and a licenced pest inspector. Your two inspectors will independently undertake a thorough inspection of your property at the same time. Your building inspector and your pest inspector will both provide you with a separate report. The advantage of having two inspectors undertaking a combined inspection of your property, is that your property will be inspected not once, but twice by two separate experts!
